BLUESAWS - The Holzfforma FL8500 Backpack Blower is a Redmax/Zenoah 8500 clone. We've been using is quite a bit as the summer comes to an end here in PA and MT . We have been impressed with the performance of this blower and the Farmertec OPE in general. Someone said about blowers to us as we got into this, Many guys go from Sthl to Redmax on the blowers. Nobody goes from Redmax back to Sthl. We can see why Farmertec used this well regarded model to be their first offering on blowers. It is a great unit.

Don’t have a lot of time on it but started in 3 pulls after first fueling then ran almost 2 hrs a full chooch no problems. Plenty of power too

First take…will update

So first and foremost, I plan on using this commercially, and if there’s anyone like me who is tired of name brand quality going down but prices going up, I figured what’s the worst that could happen. Obviously for 1/2 the price you expect less such as one of the straps has a bent hook, there were no instructions on assembly(straight forward though), and the pull start is odd… almost like the br800 start assist but that could be the design. Primed it 3 times and 3 pulls and the thing start right up. Definitely compared to the husky backpack as far as how it sounds/feels. Shipping was fast and packaging came double taped making sure nothing would come out. Overall at a first glance I’m very impressed with the price, the product, and the bluesaws team. I will update once I get some hours on this blower

Good Budget Blower

This blower is listed as a Redmax 8500 clone, however I believe this blower to be a Husqavarna 580BTS Mark ii clone. The build quality is excellent the only parts that concern me are the recoil assembly and the mounting bracket for the trigger assembly. I have put about 10hrs on the blower so far and the trigger assembly will slip from the position it is in to the next notch at times I think larger splines would fix this so I may eventually have to replace with an OEM trigger housing and bracket. Other than that the blower is comfortable to wear and runs great I made a small adjustment to the carb as it was running a little lean out of the box. The blower has plenty of power and can handle a decent pile of wet leaves no problem. I have a Stihl BR-600 and the build quality is a more premium feel but this blower out blows my Stihl no question.
